Quality Cohort Program

When it comes to early childhood education programs, quality is critical. Early childhood research shows that high-quality early childhood education gives children a strong start on the path that leads to success in school and enables them to thrive in life. The Montgomery County Early Childhood Coalition has identified the need for a focused effort on high-quality child care in our community and created a Quality Cohort Program for early childhood educators.

The Cohort is a collaborative networking group of program directors who are actively working to progress in Paths to QUALITY™. One of the strategic goals of this program is to address early learning program quality and strengthen program supports. The directors meet monthly with Lisa Walter, Early Learning Director at MCCF, to discuss program goals, and work on items needed for each program to successfully join, advance, and maintain a positive Paths to Quality rating. In the Cohort, participants exchange ideas, receive updates on early education, and collaborate on projects.

This program model benefits early childhood educators by providing the support and encouragement needed to sustain high-quality early education, which will have a long-lasting impact on children. If you are interested in joining the Quality Cohort Program, please contact Lisa Walter, Early Learning Director at MCCF, for details.
